La Asociación de Historia Contemporánea realiza un Congreso bienal y apoya otros eventos similares, en particular el Encuentro de Jóvenes Investigadores en historia contemporánea.

¿Cómo llegar a Santander?
Una vez que esté en Europa puede volar con Ryanair (una compañía aérea de bajo coste) desde Barcelona, Madrid, Bruselas, Dublín, Frankfurt, Londres-Stansted, Milán-Bérgamo, y Roma-Ciampino a Santander. También Iberia vuela desde Madrid a Santander, pero es más caro. Una vez en Santander puede coger un autobús urbano del aeropuerto al centro de la ciudad (1,10 euros) o un taxi (20 euros más o menos).
Si llega a Madrid en avión, puede coger el metro desde el aeropuerto a la estación de tren de Chamartín (hay otras estaciones de tren en Madrid. Renfe es la compañía nacional de trenes), y desde allí a Santander (el viaje dura 4 horas en tren y cuesta unos 40 euros, más o menos), o desde el aeropuerto puede coger el metro a la estación de autobuses de Avenida América (hay otras estaciones de autobuses en Madrid) y coger el autobús (Alsa-Continental es la compañía que viaja a Santander). En autobús el viaje es de unas 6 horas y cuesta unos 26 euros.

How to arrive to Santander?
When you are in Europe you can fly with Ryanair (is a low-cost airline) from Barcelona, Madrid, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, London-Stansted, Milan-Bergamo, and Rome-Ciampino to Santander. Also Iberia flies from Madrid to Santander, but is more expensive. When you are in Santander you can take a bus from the airport to the city center (1,10 euros) or a taxi (20 euros more or less).
If you arrive to Madrid by fly, you can also take the subway from the airport to the rail station of Chamartin (there are others rail stations in Madrid. Renfe is the Spanish train transit system), and from there to Santander (4 hours in train, 40 euros more or less), or from the airport take the subway to the bus station of Avenida America (there are others bus stations in Madrid) and take the bus (Alsa-Continental is the company to Santander). By bus the travel will take you 6 hours and it cost 26 euros more or less.

¿Dónde dormir? Santander es una ciudad pequeña. Es fácil llegar a todos los lugares a pie o en autobús urbano. Desde el centro de la ciudad se puede coger el bus 7c1 o 7c2 para llegar a la universidad. La conferencia tendrá lugar en el Edificio Interfacultativo, Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Avenida de los Castros s.n. Aula Magna.

Where to sleep? Santander is a little city. It is easy arrive to any place on foot or by bus. From the downtown you can take bus number 7c1 or 7c2 to arrive to the University.
